Down the TBR Hole is a meme hosted by Lost in a Story that revolves around clearing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.
I’m still at the beginning of my TBR so these are books I added when I was around 18 and oh my lord, my reading tastes have clearly changed a lot since then. I’m 26 now so 8 years definitely makes a huge difference!
Here’s how it works:
– Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
– Order on ascending date added.
– Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
– Read the synopses of the books
– Decide: keep it or should it go?
Vision in White by Nora Roberts
First of all, I’ve always wanted to read a Nora Roberts book. I’m curious to see why she’s such a well known author that has sold a bazillion books. And this one sounds pretty cute. Verdict: staying on the list
Another Piece of My Heart by Jane Green
The synopsis kind of makes the daughter sound like a psycho from a thriller novel. But this is supposed to be women’s fiction. Verdict: leaving the list
Rescue Me by Rachel Gibson
Oh I like the sound of this one! It seems like it’s going to start off as fake dating and that is one of my favourite tropes. Verdict: staying on the list
Sixteenth Summer by Michelle Dalton
Yes. Absolutely yes. This is one of those YA summer reads featuring a beach town and I am an absolute sucker for those. Sign me up. Verdict: staying on the list
Breathing by Cheryl Renee Herbsman
Nope. This is one big nope. Anything that sounds like “I met this boy and he cured all my issues” is a big no thank you in my books. Verdict: leaving the list
Staying on the list: 3
Leaving the list: 2
