Down the TBR Hole is a meme hosted by Lost in a Story that revolves around clearing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.
I’m still at the beginning of my TBR so these are books I added when I was around 17 and oh my lord, my reading tastes have clearly changed a lot since then.
Here’s how it works:
– Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
– Order on ascending date added.
– Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
– Read the synopses of the books
– Decide: keep it or should it go?
One Day by David Nicholls
I don’t know why but this book gives me Normal People vibes so I bet this book is going to tear my heart out and stomp on all the tiny pieces. Sign me up. Verdict: staying on the list
Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini
Thanks but no thanks. The synopsis does abosolutely nothing for me. Verdict: leaving the list
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
I still refuse to watch the movie a second time to this day because I cried so much. But will I eventually read this even though it is 100% guaranteed to rip my heart out? Sure, why not. Verdict: staying on the list
Paper Towns by John Green
I’m sure I would have loved this as a young adult, but now there’s nothing about it that seems appealing to me. Verdict: leaving the list
Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James
18 year old me is ashamed. ASHAMED. That’s all I have to say about that. Verdict: leaving the list
Staying on the list: 2
Leaving the list: 3
