Down the TBR Hole is a meme hosted by Lost in a Story that revolves around clearing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.
Here’s how it works:
– Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
– Order on ascending date added.
– Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
– Read the synopses of the books
– Decide: keep it or should it go?
1984 by George Orwell
This is such a classic and a book I feel is really important to read at some point in one’s lifetime. I tried picking it up once last year, and just wasn’t in the mood, but I will get back to it one day. Verdict: staying on the list
The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
I’m aware of how short this book is and that I could get through it quickly, but I remember reading the beginning of it in high school and probably added it to my TBR because I felt like I should read it. But life is way too short to read books you don’t care about. Verdict: leaving the list
The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer
Maybe one day I’ll read this, but I think it’s safe to say my days of being that 15 year old obsessed with Twilight have passed. Verdict: leaving the list
Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
I really loved The Hunger Games and am a bit embarrassed with myself for not having finished the series. I should really get on that soon. Verdict: staying on the list
Rumors by Anna Godbersen
I’m so ashamed I haven’t gotten past the first book in this series. When I read it, I loved it, and even now, I think I would seriously still enjoy the 1900s style and debauchery. It’s totally a book that’s right up my alley. Verdict: staying on the list
Staying on the list: 3
Leaving the list: 2
Are there any books you think I should have given a chance to? Any you think I should be ditching? Let me know what you think down in the comments below!
To this day, I still really love the Luxe series. At times it was a bit cheesy, but I devoured it. I hope you get to it at some point!!
