2017 Reading Goals

Happy New Year everyone! I hope your celebrations last night were filled with fun times and that you kicked off 2017 in a great fashion.

This year I’ve decided to try and be very ambitious in my reading life. 2017 is bringing some big changes in my personal life (like moving to a new province holy crap) and I’ve decided it’s best to just think along the lines of go big or go home in all aspects of my life.

I want to read at least 50 books in 2017.

Within those 50 books (or more… hopefully more), here are my goals:

  • Read Outlander. My boyfriend bought me the 20th anniversary special edition for our first Christmas together 2 years ago and every once in a while he’s like “so are you going to read this now?” YES. This year. It’s happening. I am tackling that brick of a book.
  • Read 5 poetry books. Lately I’ve been seeing many pics of beautiful poems on every area of social media and they’ve definitely captured my attention so I’ll try and pick a few up.
  • CATCH UP ON THRONE OF GLASS. 2017 is the year this is happening. There is a novella about Chaol coming out this summer and I will be caught up by then to not be spoiled. That, and for the final book coming out in September. I need to know that Rowaelin isn’t endgame.
  • Read the Mistborn series
  • Finish 5 series. I am the worst at starting a series and not finishing it. Even if I love the first book, I never seem to be able to finish/catch up. This year that changes.

And that’s it! Those are the goals I want to accomplish this year. Throughout the year, I’ll post updates (probably every 4 months) as to how things are going and add any new goals that may spring up along the way.

Let me know below what you hope to accomplish in 2017. Best of luck on all of your goals and reading challenges. I hope you all get a change to discover some incredible books that brighten up your life.
